Alli Sullivan

ANTENATAL TEACHER | Fourth Trimester Educator | Mindful Breastfeeding Coach

Alli is a former UK trained Nurse and Midwife.

The first fourteen years of her career was spent as a general nurse (Specialising in Oncology).

After the birth of her first son she took a completely different career path and retrained as a Midwife.

Alli has twenty years of practical midwifery experience working in both hospital and community settings.

She also worked as a Perinatal Mental Health Midwife which she found very rewarding.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong Alli lived in India where she worked in a small company as a volunteer Midwife.

A huge success of the team was setting up the first Waterbirth Unit in Mumbai. Alli also volunteered for an

NGO charity and was responsible for writing and facilitating a Pregnancy Programme for them.

Moving forward Alli wanted to deepen her knowledge into Perinatal Mental Health. And so she has spent the

last few years studying to gain a robust knowledge in her area of interest.

She has combined her twenty years of practical Midwifery experience and study to create workshops

that will help new mums ,dads and families  prepare for their journey to Parenthood.

All her training is up to date and evidence based, some requiring  regular supervision .

Alli can say with confidence that her years of experience supporting many  families has given her

great insight into the needs of new parents as they navigate this new journey in their life.

The Fourth Trimester

It is believed that Dr Harvey Karp coined the phrase fourth trimester.

This is a time of both transition and discovery for new parents.

It is also a time of adjustment as your baby discovers their new life outside the womb.

The fourth trimester is a time of great emotional and physical change.

Evidence suggests that getting antenatal education helps for a better planning and

hopefully smoother transition to parenthood.
